How to double your free time?
Smart multitasking
After reading this post, we’ll see:
What is smart multitasking
Why you should know about it.
How you can use it in your personal & professional life
TL; DR;
Pick two low - level tasks. Work on them simultaneously. You’ll complete both tasks in half the time.
You know you should exercise daily. But you don’t.
You want to spend more time with family. But you can’t.
You feel like you’re always busy, but feel like you’re never progressing.
So, we know what to do. But we're unable to. Why?
Time is always against us.
There is no time. In between office, commute, kids and life in general, there is no time to do what we want.
People think being productive is the answer. But instead, what happens?
😕Your mind is always racing
😕You're always falling behind
😕You're running a never- ending race
The perfect recipe for burnout. I can say this because I've burnt out more than once. It's not fun at all. But over the years, I solved this problem. Enter smart multitasking.
I know, I know. Everyone says multitasking doesn't work. But this is different 😀
How to get started?
Audit your week. List down all your activities.
Against each activity, mark "Low - level" or "High - level".
Low - level = stuff you can do on autopilot.
High - level = stuff you can't do on autopilot.
Ignore all the High - level activities.
Pick two Low - level activities and plan to do them together.
Your list may look like this:
Task | Low / High level |
---|---|
Chop veggies | Low - level |
Listen to a podcast | Low - level |
Call your girlfriend | Low - level |
Cooking | Low - level |
Watching TV | Low - level |
Working out | Low - level |
Ironing your clothes | Low - level |
Watch YouTube | Low - level |
Gardening | Low - level |
Listening to music | Low - level |
And the activities you plan to do together may look like this:
Low - level task | Low - level task |
---|---|
Chop veggies | Listen to a podcast |
Call your girlfriend | Cooking |
Watching TV | Working out |
Ironing your clothes | Watch YouTube |
Gardening | Listening to music |
Give it a try. I don’t want you to fill every waking hour doing something. But this simple tip should help you do things which matter to you.
That's it!
I hope this simple system helps you to double your free time. If you think this will help your friends, share it with them
